EU Project HARMONICOP
In December 2000 the Water Framework Directive of the European parliament came into effect in the European Union. The purpose of this directive is to achieve good water quality through the protection of groundwater and surface water. Public participation is a substantial aspect of the implementation of this directive. In context of the European Union project HARMONICOP, international experiences in river basin management planning are to be evaluated and suggestions on harmonization will be developed. The Colenco business departments Groundwater Protection and Waste Disposal, as well as Hydraulic Structures and Environment will take part in the 5th framework project of the EU as Swiss partner with support of the Federal Office for Education and Science.
