The May 2002 edition of the Colenco Info is now also available under Colenco Info. 3rd International Conference on Uranium Mining and Hydrogeology, Germany (April 2002) The Department of Groundwater Protection and Waste Disposal has submitted a contribution to the 3rd International Conference on Uranium Mining and Hydrogeology to be held in September 2002 in Freiberg, Germany. Colenco's oral presentation and paper discuss the large-scale chemical reactions such as gas generation and dissolution & precipitation processes in the salty host rock and their effects on the fluid flow and contaminant transport in flooded mining structures.
