AF-Colenco Ltd anticipates a long term commitment to the development challenges of Iran and has therefore established a Liaison Office in Tehran in October 2004. Basis for the establishment of this Representative Office was the start of construction of the Siah Bishe Pumped Storage Scheme in Iran. After studies conducted over several years by several engineering groups, we, in a joint-venture with two Iranian consulting companies, were awarded the contract in July 2003 to act as Owner’s Engineer in charge of supervising the completion of the 1,000 MW facility, which will be constructed under two EPC contracts with national and international contractors. Work began in the middle of 2004.
Following the recently completed mobilization and installation phase, construction activities were resumed at full steam after the snowmelt in spring 2004. The engineering group, with us, is responsible for the project management, overall planning, inspection of the detail plan-ning, and supervision of construction, erection and commissioning of the plant. |
